Library Rules
LIBRARY RULES can be found by clicking on this link and going to page 29: Library Expectations. When you agreed to the School Rules, you agreed to follow Library Rules.
STUDENT CONTRACT:
By using the library, I agree to follow school and library rules. If I choose to disobey these rules, I will forfeit the privilege for the day.
The library is a space for academic work, not a student lounge. Students are expected to remain engaged in learning while in the library.
Library rules are as follows:
1. No food is allowed in the library at any time. Drinks must be covered.
2. Lost books must be paid for at the replacement cost of the book.
3. Students in debt to the Library may not be allowed to check out additional books until the
outstanding fines are paid.
4. Distribution of yearbooks will be withheld from students with outstanding fines at the end of the
year.
5. Electronic devices are allowed for school use only. Phone calls are not allowed in the Library
before, during, or after school. All audio should be silenced in the library.
6. Parents may not excuse students to the library during regularly scheduled school hours.
7. Reference Books are for library use only and may not be checked out.
Computers & Printer
The library offers computers and a laser printer. All copies printed on the printer cost 10¢ per page. The computers are available to students for word processing of reports.
Internet Access
Internet access is available to all students for educational research only. Games, "chat rooms", and inappropriate websites may not be accessed at any time.
Study Rooms
Study rooms are available for group projects upon request. No more than six students may be allowed in a single room. The rules of the library are strictly enforced for those in the study rooms. There is no eating or drinking allowed. Those making excessive noise will be asked to leave. Repeated ejections from study rooms may result in the refusal of future requests to use the study rooms. The Dean of Students may require a parent meeting to correct excessive behavior issues.
Remember, those not engaged in these activities will be asked to leave. Let's work together to make the library a place for focused learning and concentration!
